The NBA trade deadline is a little more than one week away, Feb. 9, 2024, and the Dallas Mavericks could be aggressive before then.

According to a report from The Athletic, the Mavericks are interested in acquiring a backup center and have their eyes on Washington Wizards center Thomas Bryant. Bryant is averaging 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season.

The Mavericks are currently 24-21 this season and are in sixth place in the Western Conference. They have been one of the most active teams in the trade market this season, acquiring Kyrie Irving from the Brooklyn Nets in December.

Adding Bryant would give the Mavericks a much-needed upgrade at the backup center position. Bryant is a young, talented player who is still developing, but he has the potential to be a very good player in the NBA.

The Mavericks have a lot of young talent on their roster, and they are looking to make a deep playoff run this season. Adding Bryant would give them another piece to help them achieve that goal.
