Kylian Mbappé scores twice but Karim Benzema's late goal sets up thrilling finish
Holders Real Madrid survive a scare as Kylian Mbappé came within inches of earning Paris Saint-Germain a famous win at the Bernabéu
Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League despite losing 3-1 to holders Real Madrid in the second leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday.
Mauricio Pochettino's side progressed 3-2 on aggregate after Kylian Mbappé's brace had initially put them in the driving seat against the 13-time European champions.
The France forward struck twice in the first half to cancel out Karim Benzema's early opener, but Real Madrid dominated after the break and Benzema's second goal in the 76th minute set up a grandstand finish.
Mbappé missed a golden chance to win it for PSG in stoppage time as he fired wide with just Thibaut Courtois to beat, while Lionel Messi also hit the post with a free-kick moments later.
Real Madrid will now face defending champions Chelsea in the quarter-finals, while PSG will meet Manchester City.
