In a precautionary move to safeguard public health, a farm in Shawano County has issued a voluntary recall of all eggs produced since May 1, 2023, due to concerns over possible Salmonella contamination. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are advising consumers to discard or return any eggs purchased from the affected farm.

What to Do if You Have Eggs from the Recalled Farm

If you have purchased eggs from the affected farm, please take the following steps immediately:

  • Discard any remaining eggs from the recalled lot.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water after handling the recalled eggs.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces that may have come into contact with the recalled eggs.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, contact your healthcare provider or the DATCP at 1-800-260-8622.

Symptoms of Salmonella Infection

Although most people infected with Salmonella do not develop symptoms, some may experience:
